THE WRAP UP

The gang enjoyed their 1st Memorial Day Weekend on Nantucket. Most folks voyaged down there on the ferry on Thurs and left on Sunday. Many bars were frequented including the Chicken Box, Tavern, Atlantic Cafe, Rope Walk and more. Main highlights of the weekend include Beer Crochet, ripping it up at the Chicken Box and other bars and late nite ink painting. Kudos to Elyse and Sully for helping organize this event.

Artistic Award - Woodsy. The drunken artistry of Matt Woods showed mixed reactions around the Nantucket house. Woods says "Ink is my tool and faces are the beautiful canvas I express my feelings on."  It was admired least by Randal who was the main subject of Wood's artistic creation. After deciding he did not like Woodsy's ink masterpiece, the ink needed to come off the face. "Nothing a little carpet cleaner won't remove," says Coveney.

The Roulette Tally. MacDaddy lost 2 consecutive roulettes costing a total of $300. The biggest whammy was he had the cash on the table for a buyout prior to the 2nd roulette.

Sport of the weekend - Beer Crochet. Who knows what can happen when you mix an innocent game of Crochet with drinking. Several games were played throughout the weekend. Hit the can and drink. Hit the whammy can and drink a whole beer.

Most Likely Not to Win the Tour De France - Woodsy. After renting bikes on Fri and riding around the island, Woodsy proceeded to wipe out in the bushes.

Weak Award of the Weekend - Miller. Hands down, Miller wins this weak award. From being the 1st one to bed every nite (including one 11:30 showing) to disappearing to the arts n crafts class, Miller was a no-show. Is this a sign of the times to come?

Troopers of the Weekend - Sully and  Woodsy. After tearing up Nantucket for 3 straight nights, Sully and Woodsy treed down to Newpy on Sun for the another wild nite watching Those Guys.

Background info

Here's info on the house we stayed at (Naushop house) about 1 mile from town. Directions to the house.  Another great Nantucket resource site is Nantucket.net which has all kinds of recreational and transportation information.
